A perfect bend
Glass System is the company dedicated to thermal treatments on the glass.
A specialisation that starts right from the glass sheets being cut and formed into different shapes. A process that has been perfected by research into specially designed moulds. An artistic expression revealed in the plasmature of remarkable glass objects. The magic is in the heat. We can prove that any design can be made in a masterly fashion. But how? Although not every type of glass can be folded exactly as we choose, all glass can be treated and processed to achieve great results.
With technology developed internally, which we jealously guard, Glass System accepts challenges from designers with the enthusiasm of those who have been in this profession for over twenty years.

Secrets of temperature
Bending glass is such a unique process that it takes at least four different techniques to perform, in which Glass System is greatly skilled. The starting point is the technology we have, designed and built internally, combined with the skill to forge static and dynamic moulds suitable for the task at hand. Lastly, the human factor steps in with the priceless experience of our furnace operators.
The bending process falls into various stages determined by the rise and fall of temperature in the furnace. When the temperature falls, and after the glass has taken the desired form, the glass is allowed to cool slowly until the internal stress is relieved, making it solid, resistant and strong. This process is known as annealing.
Before continuing to the next stage, the product is examined with special instruments to measure any stress residue. If necessary, the glass will return to the furnace, without reaching the bending temperature, and will undergo the same process to achieve the desired result.
Quality and packing
While the glass is being processed, each technical operation is constantly inspected for structural defects (size, flatness and missing registration) and the finishing is also carefully checked (scratches, chips, uniformity of decoration).
This is an essential step to ensure our clients that our products conform to quality standards. This is why the most important check is during the packing stage.
Packing is in fact a project in a project. The packaging is designed according to the function, shape and specifications of each individual job. We do not have standard packaging but only made -to-measure solutions, created from wooden cages or cardboard structures, which are all well protected to suit any form of transport. Packaging that can be personalised even further with the logo or image of the client’s choice.
Bending and tempering
The art of bending tempered glass is a specialisation within a specialisation, which makes Glass System stand out from the rest.
The technique of bending tempered glass, which was initially created to make glass for shower units, is achieved with an exclusive press that guarantees impeccable structural and geometric features. It gives perfect results that are ideal to create pieces of extreme precision.
This press technique is also used for glass that needs to meet specific safety requirements, such as shutters or doors, extractor hoods, headboards and many other objects commonly used in interior design.
